Sard Adjustable Fuel Regulator

Since the KFZE fuel pump being suspect having problem due to low fuel pressue, i decide to change the fuel pump to Nissan SR20 turbo fuel pump. This fuel pump was able to support the stock SR20 that is rated around 240 horse power. So i belive it will be enough for my BPT as well with a little up boost.

To overcome the high pressure from the fuel pump, i getting myself a Sard Fuel Regulator to regulate the fuel pressure. This item also in my waiting list for quit some time ago. Finally it make it way to my car engine bay now. The gauge was an oil filled type, this able to stable the meter reading when the engine is turn on.
Due to the compact engine bay at Mazda Lantis 323F, fitting this FPR is quite difficult. I need to custom made a bracket to hold the FPR.

How my engine bay look like after the Sard FPR installation is done :)

NGK plug cables

Finally decide to change my original plug cables that is from the halfcut when the x-owner convert the engine. I also do some checking on the old plug cables by using the multimeter i bought from http://www.lelong.com.my/. The way i check the cables just measure the resistance of the cable and compare the reference value from my BPT service manual. The 5th cable that connect between the coil and distributor was totally out of spec...that is one of the main reason i decide to change my cables.
Thanks to my friend kk, i get this cables from him with a very attractive price. Although is used but the condition is still very good. Again i check the cables with my multimeter again...not bad, all cable with relatively low ohm :) the most impressive is the 5th cable that is quite long but also maintain very low ohm as claim by NGK.

After the checking is done, the cables now sit nicely in my lantis engine bay now. Installation is straight forward as long as u not mix up the possition.

The first noticeable change is the engine become smoother than before. Hope this cable really will eliminate my jerking problem. :)

DIY Grounding Wire

Since the cars at my house are quite old already, for sure the grounding wires on the car are worn out due to the cheap material being use, heat and etc... So i decide to DIY some new grounding cable for it and also add some blink2 staff to the engine bay.

First is to get the wire that suitable. i opt for cable that use to power the amplifier. These type of cable normal has very low resistance and can withstand heat very well. This is crucial as these wires will put in the engine bay and of cos it will be very hot. So bad when i get from the shop, the available color only red.

Next is cut the wire with the correct length u need and insert the connector to it.

To make it better, i solder the connection between the connector and wire. It give me felt like this will work better :P My soldering skill is not that good :(

After that, cover the connection with sumitube. It give the feeling that the ground wire is branded one :)

To make sure the connections is good, i use multimeter to measure the resistance of the cable. Set it to 200 ohm as the reading will be very small. The result was very satisfying :)

So far i had do around 13 grounding wires and 2 into my lantis, 5 to my daily drive Kelisa and 6 to my sister'2 Satria.

Modification that come together with the car - Engine

The biggest modification on the car is the engine itself. Some history about the engine.

Group A rallying is the sport from which the Mazda GTX was spawned. Mazda took
the plunge into full Group A competition in 1986 with their B6 1.6 litre
turbocharged 4WD 323. This vehicle enjoyed considerable success over its fairly
short competition life, which led to the continuation of the small turbo 4WD
theme. It was in 1989 that the all-new BG8Z Familia was introduced. The new car
received a larger BP engine (1.8 litre) and made its rally debut in the 1990
Thousand Lakes rally. It then continued competing quite successfully, giving
Mazda another motorsport car to complement the road-racer RX7.The ultimate
version of the Familia is the awesome (but quite rare) GT-R. This hard-edged car
was brought into action in the latter part of 1992.

My 2nd Mazda Lantis 323F

My current car is a Mazda Lantis also. This time is a Lantis 323F, five door hatchback. The bodyshape was designed by former Porsche designers.
I get this car from my friend and it come with GTX engine or more commonly ppl refer it as B8 180 engine that already transplant to it. The engine produced 179 hp (134 kW) and 174 ft·lbf (237 N·m) of torque. The car come basically with it stock form, no major modification has been done except a full 2.5" piping, Apexi EL Boost meter, Pivot baby turbo timer, Recaro M3 bucket seat and a decent sound system.

My first Mazda Lantis 323

My first Mazda lantis 323 GLX is sedan type. It registerd at year 1994 and i get this car from my grandfather when he change his car to Toyota Vios. Since i am his grandson, he give me a very low price ;)
The car come with a very good condition in interior, the only problem is the car was not go through proper maintenance. The car lost a lot power and the pick up was like turtle.
After get it, major service was done to it. Timing belt, water pump, engine oil, belts, front n rear
absorber were change due to wear n tear. Also sent the car for tinted due to horrible hot weather at Melaka, Malaysia.

Modification Begin.....
After all services is done. It time to start modify the car to get all the potential and performance out the car. First thing to start with is the intake. For the air filter i opt for KNN open pod. The size of the air filter is 3" and it is a universal type.

Since the car is almost 10 years old. It is good to have the car proper grounded since most of the stock grounding cables are already oxidized. For this purpose i get Pivot Raizen voltage stabilizer that come with 5 grounding point.
This is how my engine bay look like after the KNN air filter n ground cable installed.

For a better handling, i also installed the zenden struct bar ;)

After the intake, then is time for the exhaust already. For this mod, i had remove all the stock exhaust system. The piping is increase to 2" and using stanless steel from front till end. At front, a custom built 4-2-1 extractor is use. At middle, FGK performance bullet is place and for the end i opt for a S-flow muffler for some low-mid end power and quiet ride.

For the ignition system, only the spark plug cable is change and it yellow in colour. This give some colorful in the engine bay. As for the spark plug, a set of bosch super plus (Yttrium) spark plug are sit in the engine.

For the fueling system, an adjustatble fuel regulator from taiwan is replace the stock one. Thanks to my friend, i was able to get this with a stuff price ;)

Some gadgets in the car. The pioneer player and 2 meters, vacuum and volt :) make u feel like sport car...hahahaha

That all about my first car ;) coming soon will be my 2nd Mazda Lantis 323F.
